Besides the more in-your-face effects like the particle galaxy or the sea of clouds, STS-04 also has more subtle stuff like the focal blur or the weird reflections on the black snakes. Most effects are well-known, but they´re still well executed.

Scene.org Awards over - feedback wanted!

The dust has settled down and the 7th Annual Scene.org Awards is over. Congratulations to all the awarded ones! We'd like to thank also once more our sponsors Assembly and The Gathering demoparties for their support, as well as Breakpoint for providing the venue for the Scene.org Awards prize giving ceremony. We really couldn't do this without all of your support!

Breakpoint live streaming

Scene.org is proud to announce that it is sponsoring live streaming from the Breakpoint demo party this Easter. Scene.org is contributing with both financial and technical aid to bring both the general coverage of Breakpoint as well as the Scene.org Awards show to people who cannot attend the event itself. If you're staying home for the Easter, don't forget to tune in at Breakpoint TV on the Saturday evening at 20:30CET!

It's time to announce the 7th Annual Scene.org Awards nominations! Altogether 39 demos, intros and animations are competing this year in 12 different award categories. Check out the nominations here. The winners will be announced in a grand Scene.org Awards show at Breakpoint 2009 demoparty on 11th April, starting at 20:30 CET.

Public choice voting is open

The 7th annual Scene.org Awards has now opened for voting for Public Choice. Please head over to the voting page to cast your vote! The voting is open until March 1st, midnight (Central European Time).

So -- Another year, another twelve prize categories to solemnize the best demoscene releases from 2008. The Scene.org Awards will take place at Breakpoint demoparty in Bingen am Rhein, Germany on Saturday April 11th, 2009. If you're planning to attend the party or would like to see the Scene.org Awards show streamed over the internet, please consider donating money into our sponsoring fund. More details are on the way, and absolutely no greetings to Lehman Brothers this time around.
